once i have figured out the system, it`s function and amount, the real issue is now to adapt it to the existing situation. to make use of the solar pv system as shading is to give meaning to the system. it could have easily been put on top of the roof, but the importance of making the system visible needs to be emphazised and gives the technical system a important function in the public space.
this solution is a structure of cables stretched between four columns and has solar pv panles of varied sizes lying on top of them. this will give the important shading, but also letting in light and giving the rather rigid system a more organic aspect.

same comment as before
how can the shading from solar panels be combined with spaces for social activity, rest/hanging out, plant growing, selling/buying stuff
what happened to the laundry/wash facility?
I`m working/playing with the integration of the solar shading now. it will function on several levels, both as shading when entering the hub, but also for shading outside the mosque, where the prayers can meet and talk, before and after the praying. so, in both active and passive areas.
the laundromat is coming along. i am trying to integrate shading and some kind of open water, to function as cooling down of the area connected to it. the laundromat is a new structure, connected with a palm-roof to an existing house, that will function as a coffee-shop.
i will post these pics later.
the parking-issue has not been worked on so much, yet, but i am doing an overall Masterplan this weekend, and will then work primarily with parking and entering the village.
